Why we killed the number-search page.
This used to be a searchable list. It's not anymore, on purpose. Here's what we learned.
Scrapers found it fast
Bots indexed the available-numbers list hourly. Numbers were added to spam-dialer blocklists within minutes of appearing on our site.
Clean DIDs are our product
If a customer ports a number and it's already been cold-called by scrapers pretending to be us, we've sold damaged goods. That's not acceptable.
KYC first, numbers second
FCC and intl regulators expect us to know the entity receiving a number before it's assigned. Public search breaks that workflow.
